Arlington, Va., June 20, 2013 – The Entertainment Software Associations (ESA) recently received top honors in EXPO Magazine’s E.X.C.I.T.E. Awards. ESA was named the Gold Winner in the “Best Use of a Mobile app” category for its FollowMe app for E3 Expo. The E.X.C.I.T.E. Awards honor excellence and innovation in the tradeshow and event industries, and recognize outstanding achievement across 12 categories.

ESA collaborated with Core-apps, LLC, a mobile application development company, to create an official mobile application for the E3 Expo, the world’s premier trade show for computer and video games and related products. ESA and Core-apps developed user-friendly features for the application to provide preshow planning and customized onsite navigation.

Attendees with any web-based smartphone or tablet were able to download the app for free and use its one-of-a-kind features with or without an internet connection. Through the app, users had the ability to manage their E3 event schedule, access onsite navigation through interactive show maps, receive news alerts and special offers from vendors, download press kits, make travel arrangements and find local places of interest. Users could also download photos and videos from the galleries, receive the live #E3 Twitter feed and become “friends” with others to send messages and share schedules.

The Follow Me application for the E3 Expo received enough downloads to make it a “top hit” for Apple’s App Store in the Reference Category.

E3 draws tens of thousands of professionals to experience the future of interactive entertainment. The most influential people leading the most innovative companies in the business attend E3 to see groundbreaking new technologies and never-before-seen products for computers, video game consoles, handheld systems, mobile, and the Internet.
